Video-CBT & Computer Based Training (CBT) with Competency Assessment explained
Video-CBT - a new interactive format developed by AVDP for use on PC’s for training and assessing competency of personnel.
AVDP's generic 'with questions' Training ‘Titles’ are available in Video-CBT format and are supplied on CD-ROM.Each Video-CBT comprises the full video program in MPEG digital video format at FULL SCREEN high resolution on the PC’s Monitor with stereo sound.
Options to Play Movie or access a ‘Sections’ Menu to access any Section of the Movie – a Multiple-Choice Questions Module – Detailed analysis of Trainee’s answers – Print Competency Certificate. E-learning Modules can also be produced using a similar format.
How does Video-CBT Work - Login & Play Movie
Access to the Video-CBT training modules requires the trainee to ‘Login’ by entering their personal details which are automatically stored and are used for identification of each trainee accessing and using the training modules.
Once ‘logged in’ the trainee is presented with a ‘Welcome Screen’ showing their Name, Company, and ‘login’ time. They then have the option to ‘Play Movie’ or go to ‘Movie Sections’ menu if they have left the PC previously and are returning to complete receiving the training provided by the movie.
The ‘Movie Sections’ menu can also be used to go back to any section of the movie for ‘refresher’ training.
Multiple-choice Questions - Competency Assessment
On completion of the movie, the trainee is presented with the Multiple-Choice Questions Module with questions relating to the subject covered by the movie.
Each question must be answered before the trainee is allowed to proceed to the next question. On completion of the questions, the trainee is presented with a screen showing their name, company, date and time of completion, number of questions answered correctly, and their score as a percentage. This screen doubles as a ‘Competency Certificate’ and can be printed showing the trainee’s personal details, date, score etc.
A detailed Competency Assessment ‘Log file’ folder is automatically generated on ‘C’ drive on the host PC. A separate file is generated in this folder for each person logging on and contains : their personal details - time & date of logon and logout - detailed answer analysis of answers the trainee has selected - number of answers correct - and percentage achieved. This file can be archived, printed or emailed to any specified email address – See Video-CBT & CBT Competency Assessment log file example :
Conventional Computer Based Training - CBT / E-learning
AVDP’s conventional CBT modules are the same as Video-CBT, but instead of a Full Screen movie, they have audio, text, pictures, video clips, graphics etc., and have the same questions modules and detailed Competency Assessment ‘Log file’. Elearning modules can also be produced using a similar format.
Video-CBT is now preferred by most of AVDP’s clients over conventional CBT modules, as trainee’s have been found to respond and perform better to the instruction and information provided in the FULL screen Video-CBT movies.
